Solar Eclipse Giyani, Musina 2002/12/04

Samson Mongolele of the Giyani Science Centre, Giyani, Limpopo Province was one of our partners for the solar eclipse. Before the eclipse they carried out educational workshops. For the eclipse itself they organised a number of buses to travel to Musina in order to get into the path of totality. Some pictures taken by Samson with the camera supplied for the eclipse project are shown below.

Giyani science centre made use of their own orrery (foreground) together with the one made in the HartRAO workshops to explain how eclipses occur. Studious notetaking seems to be going on here.
